The CDC has reported an outbreak of measles in the U.S. currently involving eleven states. The Verona Area School District would like to take this opportunity to provide some information about measles and how to prevent it.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact our school nurse, Rebecca Ducharme at 608-845-4015 or

We would like to remind families that we have students in the building with life threatening allergies.

PLEASE REMEMBER:  We do have students who have ALLERGIES!

Foods that most often cause reactions are peanuts, tree nuts, fish and shellfish, milk, eggs, wheat, and soy.  Ingestion of the food allergen is the principal route of exposure; however, it is possible to react to touching the offending food.  Students should wash their hands after eating and be aware that other students may have serious food allergies.

The district food service has removed peanuts, tree nuts, and fish from the items served.
A common non-food allergen is latex.  “Dipped” latex products most often trigger allergic reactions.  These soft, stretchy products contain high levels of the latex protein.  We have students with severe allergies to latex.  Latex balloons. Koosh balls, and other items containing latex are not allowed.
Let’s keep all of our students safe!
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our school nurse Rebecca Ducharme at (608 )845-4015.
