Opportunities for Parent VOLUNTEERS!
There are many opportunities for parents to be involved at SOMS. Below are some of the events that require help from parents. If you have time in your day and would like to make a difference at SOMS, please consider helping out with one of the following events.

6th Grade
At this time, there are some specific opportunities to support our 6th graders. If you are interested in one of the ideas below, please reply to Karen.Mittelstaedt@verona.k12.wi.us to arrange a brief training session and set a few specific dates. Core and/or Academy time volunteers:
Math fact testing: work one-on-one with a learner to practice and demonstrate mastery of math facts
Reading buddy: work one-on-one with a learner to read and improve comprehension skills
Study buddy: work one-on-one or with small groups of learners to review skills for core classes
Writing assistant: work one-on-one with a learner for the writing process (revising, editing, polishing)
7th Grade
Math: Math buddies: work with small groups of math students
8th Grade
