Valentine's Day is right around the corner and it often includes sharing treats.

When sending in treats, snacks and lunches, please remember that we have many students with food allergies in the schools.  Read labels carefully. (click here for the Snack Safely list) Foods that contain peanuts/tree nuts or are manufactured in a facility that processes these foods can cause severe health issues and death.  Students who bring nut products for lunch or snack should use a hand wipe or wash with soap and water.  Washing cleans the nut oils from hands and prevents the spread of the allergen.

Also remember that our schools are Latex Free.  We have a number of students with severe allergies to latex.  Please consider this when you bring in decorations or gifts.  Latex balloons, Koosh balls and any other items containing latex are not allowed.

Thank you for keeping all of our students safe,
The VASD nurses
