
The Yahara Writers Workshop awards event was held on May 9th at Union South.
Congratulations to Kirsten, who was one of 10 who received an award for Editorial writing at this year's Yahara Writers Competition.
Young adult fiction author, Jacqueline Houtman, was the keynote speaker. Thousands of student entries from all over Dane county participated in 4 categories: poetry, short story, editorials, cartoons. Students also participated in breakout sessions within their category.

Yahara river Writers Anthology Project is a competition is for passionate writers in grades 5,6,7 and 8. Students are encouraged to apply their knowledge of writing in the following categories:
- Cartoon
- Editorial
- Poetry
- Short Story
Winners are invited to the awards ceremony in April which includes breakout sessions for aspiring writers.
