TODAY'S ANNOUNCEMENTS

AM Announcements

In 7th grade basketball: Both the A team and B team played good team defense. Unfortunately, neither team could find their rhythm on offense. Both teams lost to Stoughton. We are back in action Monday at Oregon.

In 8th grade basketball:  Great improvement for the 8th grade boys B-team.  They played better team defense and competed with a strong Stoughton B-team.   Keep improving. The A- team came out in the second half with amazing fire to beat the Stoughton A-team.   Way to play like a TEAM tonight. Also, thank you to all the supportive and fun fans who cheered on both teams. The SOMS fans are AWESOME.   Go Wildcats!!!

An announcement to all Orchestra students:  Please bring your ipad to class today.

AM Announcements

Three Reminders to all learners,

Savanna Oaks has a no cell phone policy during the school day.  If your family wants you to have a phone with you at school, it needs to be off and put away from 8:30- 3:38 daily.

Secondly, learners may not be in the hallway without a timed, signed pass during class time.  Students, get a drink, use the restroom and gather your materials before entering each classroom.

Thirdly, it is warmer today than yesterday, so everyone will be outside after eating lunch, bring your coats.

Good luck to Boys BB players and Savanna Oaks Wrestlers on your games and matches tonight.

From Mr. Miura and the 100 Black Men organization... students interested in participating in this year’s African-American History Academic Challenge, please join us in Room 115 (Mr. Crandell’s room) right after school today.  This is a tremendous opportunity to learn about the richness of black history, and compete against other students and schools. Please check in with Mr. Miura for more information and plan to take the 4:30 bus home (or arrange for a 4:30 ride) after the club meets. Looking forward to seeing some of our Project SOAR students as well as any students interested in history.  Last year, our diverse team of students won the Verona contest and competed in the state finals! See you right after school today in Room 115.

AM Announcements

Last night in 7th grade basketball both the A and B team came out flat early against their opponents. Both teams were able to cut into the lead to make it close at halftime, but neither team was able to do much more in the second half. Both teams fell to McFarland. We will get back in the gym tonight and will continue to work to get better.

Last night in 8th grade basketball both teams lost to a strong and aggressive McFarland team.   However, in the remake in a few weeks, we will be a much more prepared team.
TONIGHT’S PRACTICE WILL BE WITH THE B TEAM ONLY and TOMORROW’S PRACTICE WILL BE WITH THE A TEAM ONLY.

It is only7 degrees f. outside, which suggests a -7 “feels like” or wind chill temp.  If you want to go outside after lunch, you must wear a winter coat and have your head and hands covered.

From the Savanna Oaks Dance Team: Dance practice is tomorrow after school in the Step Room.  Please turn in your permission slips. Bring comfortable shoes.  See you then!
