AM Announcements

Welcome back to school everyone.
 

We have the opportunity to spend the next 3 weeks working and learning together before our next few days away for winter break.  

Remember, every day every learner must have their charged ipad with them in class ready to use for learning. 

Bring your coats to lunch and keep those phones off and away from 8:30-3:38.

Tuesday, Dec. 3

AM Announcements

Ninja Academy:  Remember that you can sign up in the LMC to stay on Tuesday or Thursday for extra study time in our LMC with Mr Welty.  You must sign up before 3pm and have a plan to take the 4:30 bus, walk or have your ride arranged at that time. 


To all scholars: remember to have your charged ipad with you in every class every day, bring your coats to lunch and keep those phones off and away from 8:30-3:38 daily.

There will be a GSA meeting this Wednesday (12/4) after school in the art room (124). GSA is a group for students who are part of the  LGBTQ+ community and for supportive straight peers to gather for advocacy, support, and fun! Please plan to take the 4:30 late bus or have a ride ready to go at that time.  See you there!

 

Student Council….Food Drive is going well. Savanna Oaks has already donated hundreds of pounds of food. This week’s most needed items are: canned peaches, baked beans, canned meats, cake/brownie mix and Masa flour.

From Mr. Miura and 100 Black Men...just a reminder to come to Project SOAR in RM 212 tomorrow for more cool financial information.  Please bring your lunchbag or a paper tray from the lunchroom when you come. We will be meeting during all 3 grade level lunchtimes and be sure to bring your iPad as well!  This activity is open to all African-American students at our school.

From GSA 

There will be a GSA meeting today after school in the art room (124). From Mr. Miura and 100 Black Men...attention to our African-American students who are Project SOAR participants.  We have another great lunch meeting planned for today. Every grade level will meet during lunch hour in Room 212.  Teachers, please let interested Project SOAR students leave two minutes early (bring your iPads with you) so they can either get their lunch bag from their locker or go over to the lunch line, take paper trays and bring their lunch up to Room 212. Remind your friends and build your future wealth through knowledge!


Attention all 7th grade orchestra students, bring your ipad to class today.


Attention all girls interested in playing basketball for Savanna Oaks this year,  we will have an informational meeting during lunch on Friday.   At the meeting you will receive all necessary information and paperwork.  8th grade girls bring your lunch to Coach Motelet’s Room at the start of lunch.  7th grade girls bring your lunch to Ms. Motelet’s Room at the start of your lunch.  Go WILDCATS!!!!


Attention all students interested in SOMS Ski Club!  Stop by room 115 to grab an informational letter about the upcoming parent meetings.  The meetings will be Wednesday, December 11 and Wednesday, December 18 in the LMC at 6:30pm.  See Mr. Crandell if you have any questions.


In 8th grade basketball action last night, both teams came out sluggish and could not stop hot shooting Oregon teams.   Come cheer on the teams against Badger Ridge on Thursday.

7th Grade Basketball: In basketball action last night the 7th grade A and B teams both struggled to find consistency and fell to Oregon.  Both teams are back in action Thursday night against Badger Ridge.

The VAHS Multicultural Showcase Community Show starts at roughly 7:00 PM Friday.   Tickets are $5.00/adults and $3.00/students.


Attention 8th grade advisory teachers please send the list of students provided by Ms. Sias and Ms. Garcia’s to room 209 for ACCESS test preparation right after announcements.

What a fun night for 8th grade boys basketball players and fans.   Great energy and unselfish play from both teams led to two victories against Badger Ridge last night.  Thank you so much for all the positive fan support for both Verona teams. What a great example of community spirit.  GO WILDCATS!!!!


Last night in 7th grade basketball action, the B team played with their best effort and energy of the season.  They lost the game, but they showed great improvement against a Badger Ridge team that beat them by over 30 points to start the season.  In the A team game the teams offensive struggles continued. The team was unable to get revenge against their rivals from Badger. The 7th graders have two more games this season.
